The Adair County Middle School FFA afterschool ag club started a series of animal science activities today by talking about ruminant animals, types of animal feeds, including a food lab mimicking how animal feeds are mixed, and ended with working with vet science kits to learn about organs in ruminant and nonruminant animals!

ACMS FFA students visited the farms of Tim and Tenley Dexter this week. Students learned about the role of working dogs on farming operations and specifically about how Mrs. Dexter trains her Australian Shepherds to work livestock. Students also learned about the hair sheep breeds, Katahdin and White Dorper, in addition to learning about the Dexters' market lamb operation. We really appreciated Mrs. Dexter inviting us to visit and learning about their farming operation!

“Step into the fifth dimension with our 6th graders as they explore A Wrinkle in Time in creative and critical ways! From constructing a tesseract to making connections with hexagonal thinking, writing in Morse code, and diving deep into character studies, these students are bending time and space with their learning. Engaging, hands-on, and full of discovery—just like Meg’s journey through the universe! #AWrinkleInTime #CreativeThinking #EngagedLearning”

ACMS families,
Multiple social studies classes are putting together a 'living history museum' - where students will research a person from history, create biographies and present AS that person! We have created a list of items that could be useful for our students when they do this! If you would like to donate here's the Amazon wish list that we have created: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/CBBUTFMZFJYP?ref_=wl_share
Also, if you have any items you would like to donate: any old period costumes, blazers, dress pants, dress shirts, long dresses, or skirts - please contact Ms. McGaha (kellie.mcgaha@adair.kyschools.us). Thank you!

Dear ACMS Families,
As Valentine's Day approaches, we understand the excitement surrounding the exchange of gifts for a special someone. However, to ensure a smooth school day and to minimize disruptions to learning, we kindly ask that NO Valentine's Day deliveries be sent to the school.
This helps maintain a focused and equitable learning environment for all students. We encourage you to celebrate the day with your loved ones outside of school hours.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Warm regards,
Keri Willis
Principal, ACMS
